As is done every month or every couple of months, the Safari Zone's Pokémon have changed, and of course, that means that Mars once again finds himself buying tickets and venturing down the same path he has come to know well.

His Alolan Vulpix is by his side today, keeping up with him with quick steps and wearing an adorable collar that Mars had bought during one of his many ventures to Pokémon accessory stores with BARNABY FINCH.

No offense to Fairy type fans (or well, maybe a little bit of offense), but, like... Milcery are weird pokémon. Like it's this floating, sentient, puddle of milk. And sure, Mars likes Reuniclus and other strange psychic types, but Milcery is just... it looks like its existence must be fucking miserable.

Oh, maybe that's why they're call that.

This one looks pretty damn happy, though. Shame that Mars sees it as nothing more than good target practice and another addition to his collection.

He clicks his tongue, and soon enough the Milcery is actually miserable...when FREEZE DRIED by the Vulpix.

One down, three Safari Balls left.

The next Pokémon they encounter is barely noticeable at first. A flower field stretches to one side of the path, and its with excitement that Pollux looks at them. Smiling faintly, Mars reaches into his pocket to retrieve the Vulpix's favourite ball, calling Pollux's attention to it with a whistle before throwing.

The Vulpix immediately goes after it, and in doing so, disturbs one particular flower that is apparently held by a Flabébé.
[break][break]
An unfortunate flurry of MAGICAL LEAVES strikes the small vulpine pokémon, but Pollux doesn't back down, letting out a growl and countering with fierce ICE SHARDS.

With two Pokémon caught and two Safari Balls left, this stop by the Safari Zone almost reaches its end.

The next pokémon he encounters is Karrablast half-hidden behind a tree, and since Mars already happens to have one of them, he doesn't make a priority out of catching this one.

Instead, he calls for Pollux to follow and keeps on walking.

It doesn't take all that long for them to encounter another pokémon, this time among roses. It occurs to Mars that perhaps the Safari Zone puts particular effort into having their temperatures be warmer during the month of February, to be suitable for the Valentine's Day theme.

Then again, maybe this place is far enough from Oldale to not be all that affected by the new weather patterns in the area.

Questions like those aren't really his focus, so instead of continuing to wonder, Mars calls for his Vulpix to attack.

Minccino happens to not be in the list of Pokémon Mars is interested in obtaining from this particular Safari Zone cycle, given that he already has one of them in his collection.

Sadly for the one the banker and his Vulpix soon encounter, that does not spare it from being targetted.

As should only be expected, the cat is the one Mars looks forward to the most.

While most of the pokémon they have encountered so far have been as if target practice for Pollux to train with, this time the banker decides to be more subtle about it all, allowing the Vulpix to become friends with the small Sprigatito that hides amongst the tall grass.
